Listening to: Big Trouble Upstairs - Pitch Black
On Saturday I purchased a Nintendo DS.
After a few hours of disappointment as I struggled with learning the new control system
for Mario 64 DS I became quiet enamoured with the machine. I do have to say that it’s
a lot of fun to play. The ability to just close the device half way through a game
and pick it up exactly where I left off a hour later suits my approach to games. It
also means that the TV remote is now freed up during TV breaks… much to Andy’s relief.
I am still getting over the comment from the pimply, little, counter-droid at
EB Games:
“Yes, we’re finding the unit is popular amongst the aged.”
Aged! My God! Why you little whipper-snapper! That’s ‘distinguished’ to you!
In my day you were lucky to have two colours on a screen at one time! And we didn’t
call them ‘computers’ we called them ’semi-auto-calculatrons’. So I bet him ’round
the back of head with my walking cane and shuffled out of the shop (or the goods-purveyor
as we used to refer to them as) .

Listening to: One Love (The Narcotic Suite) - The Prodigy
Found this on NewScientist. Touching, in a medical sort of way:
Cultured bone offers novel wedding rings
Some will think it a romantic gesture, others will find it grisly. But one willing couple in the UK is about to get the chance, thanks to a government-funded project intended to promote awareness of the issues surrounding tissue engineering.

Listening to: The sound of the office waking up
We spent Thursday and Friday in the lovely city of Christchurch. Primarily the trip
was for the wedding of
friends, but we got a chance to look
around the city as well.
I think it is also only fair that I give Sumner
Apartments a plug. If you’re looking for a really high quality place to stay in
Christchurch I suggest that you stay with them. I was really very impressed.

Listening to: Galaxy Blues - This Information
From SuicideGirls (for
the newbies… not work safe). Word of warning… do your home work:
Protester organizer’s meticulous planning for a raid yesterday on London’s International
Petroleum Exchange missed and important detail: oil trading is an occupation for young
men - brutally
aggressive young cockney men.

Listening to: The scratchy noise that headphones makes when there
is no sound coming through them.
Found this on Small
Business Branding. Jon
Stewart on Bloggers… as always hysterically funny.

Listening to: The air conditioning
I thought the Wired ‘Found‘
for March was kinda cool…
The odd thing was that I needed to jiggery-pokery around with the jpg to generate
the above image… very odd.

Listening to: Everything Counts - Depeche Mode
Is Expediton the name for
Longhorn?
I like it… el Torro was never going to be at the top of a food chain and as
such it was doomed to be riffed against the Apple felines.
