Well it’s that time of the year again… the last few days before Christmas Apple WWDC and the rumor elves are slaving over hot Photoshop terminals and whipping their Mongers into full frenzy… Glee! What fun! So here’s a line up of tidbits from sources across the credible scale. Steven only knows the truth.

At the “bicycle and puppy” end of the wish list lies the venerable ol’ iPhone (I wonder if it ever gets tired of being trotted out on such a regular basis). TUAW has images of the iChat Mobile device … which rather than being a cell phone is a VOIP phone (my preferred permutation of the Apple phone rumor).
Finally, punting off down river Vague, we have his Scobleness… with the tantalizing use of the phrase “dizzying amount of new products”. (src: TUAW)

I think the iChat Mobile is a complete fake. why would they put the camera on the back of the phone? It doesn’t make sense for video calls.

I agree… I think the image is bogus… but I am a paid up subscriber to the idea of an Apple VOIP phone.

I read an article today that says the iPod is really starting to get kicked by the mobile phone as a music player. So eventually I think we will see an Apple phone of some sort. I have to say I might be really interested in what Apple could do with a cell phone with Wifi that hooked into my iChat and Skype etc. But I don’t know if I would pay for just an VOIP device. Does any other company get more mileage from it’s announcements than Apple though? Just amazing.
