I have started working with Adobe Acrobat 3D… wow! Based on the work done by the 3D kung-fu masters at Right Hemisphere it allows you to embed 3D objects into PDF files. Publishing is quick and easy… and the end result is oh so effective (the demo file is a bit clunky, but I am able to spin out simple documents that are about 200K in size). A great feature is that it is backward compatible… so users of viewers that don’t support the 3D content still get the ‘2D’ version.

A few months into leaving Provoke I finally decided what it was that I wanted to do next. Yesterday I was doing some of the proof of concept work and I got this exciting surge of adrenaline. There was this visceral pleasure in feeling all the various threads of research converge. Concepts and ideas that I have been researching for (in some cases) years all gave up their little keys yesterday… thrilling!

Random observation: I thought about it last nite… and my observations were confirmed
- these two guys rule the savoury spread section of the super-duper (i’m talking total
domination here… other than a single jar of pate and a pot of fish paste). It’s
really amazing. Imagine what sort of challenge it must be to create a competitor!
